[Music: Ootsuka Ai - Planetarium]
I don’t know how I managed schlepping all my stuff (clothes+Christmas presents+Jun ze lap+personal crap+books for uni) from point A marking Berlin to point B marking my hometown, but I arrived more or less safely (damn you, overly crowded trains *shakes fist*) late last Thursday.
Relaxing is an activity I had to erase completely from my mind because I need to read things for school, prepare a presentation (for January 3 ;_;) and make sure all stays fresh on the kanji front inbetween all of that. I did get to read a bit for fun though (no manga, unfortunately), also caught up slightly with this anime season which features a lot of pretty good stuff plus the shows that have been running for a while like Eureka seveN and Garasu no kamen.
Oh and Christmas cookies! My mother and I decided to be very very creative this year which resulted in the best cookies we’ve ever made :)
I haven’t even had the time to miss everyone that much. It’s quite nice to be in a less populated area once in a while, to be able to see the sky and the horizon without blocks of buildings blocking the view, to breathe fresh air, be generally closer to nature and all that hippie-esque stuff. And I could really enjoy it all even more intensely if it weren’t for that presentation and all the work it entails but oh well, I’ll have to cope with it. It is, after all, ultimately satisfying to work in my field of scientific interest so I’m going to give it my best.
(Someone delete this almost-Japanese mentality incl. matching phrases from my brain, please.)
Originally, I had planned to do a lot more with this place, I meant to post a best-of-2005 list of my favourite albums/books/etc. but (surprise!) I don’t have the time for that right now so… later?
