My head still hurts from last night.
I lost my saifu incl. 70 Euros. Damn.
What terrible injustice did Cuaron do to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? I wish someone slightly more passionate had directed it, someone who knows what this book and especially the following 2 books are all about so he knows where this film should’ve been leading to. Otherwise I wouldn’t have had to dislike this movie for all that simply isn’t there, all the crucial things that have been left out. And it just proved that above-average cinematography and visuals alone don’t make a movie perfect…
Or maybe I’m not ever going to see another (fantasy) movie so graceful, moving, dark but at the same time blindingly bright and beautiful like PJ’s LotR trilogy again.
I also noticed that Daniel Radcliffe is such a bad actor. There were scenes that were involuntarily funny just due to his bad acting, especially in the beginning of the film. You could partly forgive him when he was still younger, hoping he’d improve. But he hasn’t at all and now he’s just a one-dimensional, untalented actor with no feeling for the role he’s playing. Period.
And no, just before someone’s going to ask: Ian Brown’s cameo didn’t save the movie either – though it was probably one of my favourite moments of the whole film. Almost spilt my popcorn when he suddenly just… sat there :)
Still can’t get over having lost €70. So much money… Ah, all those things I could’ve bought with it.
