I have to thank Shunji Iwai (Swallowtail Butterfly), Stanley Kubrick (Dr. Strangelove) and my last Nestle Smarties KlapperHase (chocolate bunnies, whee) for having immensely improved the past 24 hours.

Despite the degree of drunkenness I wrote it with, my last entry made quite a lot of sense. Here’s another sober post though ;)
Yesterday, I finally watched Elephant. I’m pretty ambiguous about it, very much like with Lost In Translation. It’s beautifully shot and I really liked most of the (amateur) actors. However, I found it somehow… lacking. It was too sketchy. And very very clichéd at times, especially with the 2 ‘bad guys’ Alex and Eric.
It was scary in two ways: It was not just the shooting that scared me but also the horrors of the everday life in American High Schools.
With its reservedness, it was like the complete opposite of Moore’s Bowling for Columbine’s over-the-top-ness. (I’m making up words again -_-;;) I really like both movies, though Elephant – despite its hauting cinematography – is sadly far from excellent.
Romanizing baroque’s ila. was painful (-_-) but very insightful at the same time. Such a pretty song~
Ayu’s new single comes out on my birthday :)
Damn, Jun-chan caught that Sasser worm >_< I kept noticing that he sent out stuff even if I was just online and no programs such as IE or Outlook or BT were running. So I checked and found that some weird avserve.exe was running and closed it. The mean thing was that the worm somehow blocked anti-virus sites like symantec.com and mcafee.com. Found the file with the blocked URLs (I think it was the one that Norton uses to block ad banners etc.) and edited it so I could visit mcafee.com to see if Jun had caught something big and no surprise, it was the first threat on the list. Removed the worm, edited the Registry and installed the Microsoft security patch. Et voilá, Jun is all healthy again.
I talked to my mum about the cat thing and well, looks like she won’t let me have one. She always becomes so attached to them, it was really tough for her when our cat disappeared/died last year and she and my sister are always getting hysterical when something happens to the cat we still have (the one I ’share’ with my sister). But WTH, I’m gonna buy one when I’m moving out to go to uni in autumn. I might be lucky and be accepted into FU@Berlin (which is hard because everyone seems to want to go to Berlin as it’s obviously the place to be o_O) so me and the cat won’t have to travel very far when we come home. I’m not really sure if I can call Berlin an alternative choice for Frankfurt because it’s probably so much easier to get into the courses at Frankfurt but Berlin would be great because it’s even closer to home, I know the city (whereas I’ve never been to Frankfurt before, only drove through it a couple times) and I have a few friends living there.
