I saw RotK again last night, for the last time :( Just like last year when I wanted to see TTT at home but the theater here had already stopped showing it in early February, they had to return their RotK copies after just 6 weeks >_< I went to its last screening last night. So no more RotK until the DVD comes out. (I refuse to download movies. I love films way too much to do that and I know if I started downloading one movie I wouldn't be able to stop. I need my 'real' DVDs ^^)

Nothing noteworthy’s happening here, except there’s about a foot more snow each day to wade through. Not that bad, really. I love winters like this one.

Oh the Golden Globes, yes. Dom’s eyes were all watery when Peter Jackson got his award for best director, weren’t they. And it looked like Elijah was trying really hard to keep his composure, too. So was I, haha. Ah, I’m really happy for all of them for getting all of the awards the film was nominated for.
Stuart Townsend was there with Charlize Theron. I wonder if it felt strange for him being so close to the LotR people, thinking he could have been sitting at their table too if only they had let him play Aragorn…

I cringed when the Oscar nominations were announced earlier today, though. Johnny Deep in Pirates? Oh come on! He’s a talented actor but this movie was a piece of poop that nobody will remember in ten years time. He should get an Oscar for a better film, a better role, definitely – but not for Pirates ;_;
None of the actors of RotK were nominated; RotK did get nominated for the Editing, Visual Effects and Makeup, among others, which made me a little pissed because seriously, this film isn’t just a special effects or fantasy film. It works on so many levels and the character development is extraordinary. It would have been great if some of the actors got nominated too because none of the characters would be as convincing and touching without exactly this cast. Shame shame shame.
And no nomination for best cinematography?? Blasphemous.

I’m kind of satisfied with the other nominations. Or rather, I don’t care. This wasn’t a particularly good year for Hollywood movies. And did they even watch Lost in translation or was the name Sofia Coppola enough to nominate it for Direction and Best Picture? (It wasn’t even half as good as Virgin Suicides, so why Best Picture??? o_O)
I really hope RotK will get a few of the more important awards like Directing and Best Picture!

I was listening to the instrumental version of this song when I wrote my last post. I cannot do other things while listening to the ‘full’ version of it (ie. the one with the vocals), I can only sit and listen and… cry. Beautiful little song.

Nana Kitade’s new single comes out February 4th. Her official site has short audio and video sample clips of the title song available. The remix of Kesenai Tsumi that was released on a remix maxi sounds really nice, too. I have slight problems with her singing style in some of her songs, I can’t really describe it but it sounds like she’s pushing her voice to hard, almost like she’s yodelling ^^; But that doesn’t make her songs less infectious.
Nana seems to be an interesting, deep person – at least that’s the impression I got from reading her diary…

Oh and I followed a discussion on Japanese punk bands on a message board… in my mind, I saw members of ‘real’ Japanese punk bands twitch in pain when someone suddenly stated 175R were a JPunk band o_O Punkrock isn’t punk, kids. Just like a pop song isn’t a rock song just because there’s a guitar in it.

0% – the impressive amount of progress for the new layout. I have a good excuse though: I have no space to scan the images I need for it because I’m downloading crap like there’s no tomorrow ^^;

The winter season is one of my favourite for new anime. Think Arjuna and Wolf’s Rain. I hope this season will bring a gem like those, too. I have my bets on Mousou Dairinin :)

…I’ve been successfully brainwashed. But isn’t Ayu’s new song Moments so beautiful?? I’ve been watching that Visee CM over and over again just for that song -_-;;

Btw, I hope there are many female Ayu fans out there… there better be! ^-^V I’d probably feel totally out of place at Ayu fan gathering places, i.e. message boards and the like, cause I’m not a drooling fanboy ^^; (But then again, I feel terribly out of place at JRock/visual kei boards because of the drooling fangirls and flamewars.)

Now for the daily randomness: Junya is sort of okay again after I reinstalled Norton. I can receive emails again, yay!
I mentioned a few days ago I’ve totally rearranged everything in my room… Well, last night when I came home I went into my room (which was dark because I’d kept the lights off) and wanted to sit down on my bed but ended up on the carpet just a millisecond before I – too late – realized the bed was now in the opposite corner. Ouch.
I love all the snow outside, everything looks so clean and pretty. I’m going to be all girlish and shop myself to death tomorrow; cold, ice & snowstorms cannot stop me.

I got my Kagrra tour goods this morning. The pamphlet is very very pretty (read: Aki looks awesome), so is the poster set.
I’m slightly upset though because the girl charged me US$19 for the shipping when in fact it was just US$8.20?!? I shouldn’t complain really because without her I wouldn’t have gotten everything so easily, but overcharging me like this is a tiny bit rude, isn’t it. I guess I won’t have a stranger buy me goods again – though I never thought of anyone in the ’scene’ as a ’stranger’ because of our common interests, this taught me a thing or two.

While I’m on the topic of being overcharged: 3 new lab. singles in March for 1,800 Yen each? o_O With Kagrra’s album coming out on March 3 I won’t have that much money left for Japanese CDs ;_;

The snow piling up outside is always a nice excuse for staying inside; I wasted (?) a few hours playing Skies of Arcadia Legends which I’ve neglected since before Christmas.
I’m probably going to do something a bit more productive tomorrow. I’ve planned to make a new coinlockerbaby.org layout for so long – Nero has been up since last February! But I’m lazy when it comes to layouts -_- I really want to make something … controversial? Non-JRock? Star Wars?? o_O;;;

There’s something wrong with my firewall. I can’t receive and send emails in Outlook and Bittorrent refuses to work, too. Bleh.

At least I now have a few Japanese ringtones. I really want to make one of the beginning of Hanemono by Spitz… Vkei ones like baroque, Kagrra and Guruguru Eigakan will have to do for the moment. (Almost drove a friend nuts today when I repeatedly listened to my Irokoi ringtone -_-;)
