music: Howard Shore/LotR – The Two Towers OST

Ah. This is my TTT phase all over again. I thought I was over it after seeing it 8 times at the theatre…
I had both the original English and the German language version of a promo DVD rip of it since April but knowing I could watch it anytime I wanted to made me do the opposite: I waited till the original DVD came out ^^; So now, 6 months since I’d last seen the movie in February, I’m a happy little camper having it in nice DVD quality.
…And I can’t wait for the extended edition.
…And December 17.

What should be on top of things-to-do list:
Make a decision – Berlin or Leipzig, Leipzig or Berlin??
Instead, I try to push it all into a remote corner in the back of my head. It’s not even that big a deal to choose a uni, the problem rather is I do not want to go back to university. I know I’ll bore myself to death there. I want to do something, be creative.
I love my little states of confusion and indecisiveness.

Something told me to go to my DVD dealer of choice today to see if they already had the LotR – TTT 2-DVD set which is supposed to be released tomorrow – and they had it!! I’ve already watched a few of the bonus features. That 10-minute preview for RotK is !!!!awesome!!!! There’s so much unseen footage and behind the scenes material in that preview, it made me all jumpy *_* The preview for the Special Edition DVD is so great too, as it shows so many of the additional scenes.
The ‘The long and short of it’ making-of is hilarious!
I love these guys and you feel that great energy between the crew and the cast members in every single second of the LotR movies.
I also got my new Betsuma and it’s still Akki’s birthday. What a lovely day :)

It’s not the end of next week, I know. But I’m back anyway :)

Prague was beautiful! (It always is.) We spent too much money though (i.e. all the money we had), so we had to come back a little earlier than we’d planned ^^;
I’d really love to have a small apartment there one day, the city is just wonderful, so inspiring… It’s not really far from where I live and the atmosphere here is also very similar like in Prague so I wouldn’t miss my home much. There’s the language barrier as my Czech is practically non-existant but most of the people there speak either English or German or both.
The past few days were just lovely and make nice memories to hold on to during the next months.

Oh, and of course:
Happy Birthday Akiya ♥

music: merry – Gendai Stoic (album)

The heat – is GONE!

The whole power outage scenario last night felt pretty weird… A German news team was broadcasting live from New York for a report on ??? (can’t remember, brain is still mushy from the heat) and suddenly there were all those people on the streets. The first few minutes were just scary cause noone knew what was happening…

I’ve been feeling increasingly antisocial. I don’t want to talk with anyone or write emails; all I want to do is hide in a little dark cave where nobody sees me. I have no idea where all of this is coming from. Maybe it’s just some sort of belated reaction to last months’ stress; or maybe it’s because what lies ahead of me. This endless waiting for the letters from all the universities I applied is not making me very comfortable.

I don’t know why but I’m starting to like Dir en grey a lot again. They were my favourite band for about three years (from 1999 till early 2001), the Ain’t afraid to die single was the last release I bought. Everything that came after that made me lose my interest in them. (And then there was also my Kagrra fixation that made any other band seem less important. ^^;)
So now it feels like falling in love again with someone you’ve been with before. Everything’s so familiar but at the same time, there’s stuff I missed out and thus have to catch up on. I think I was extremely lucky I was able to order last year’s two photobooks (Dragonfly and that XX tour book thing) with my preorder with the VULGAR first press package at Third Stage cause both books weren’t available anymore the next morning!
I like the band interview in the current issue of Fool’s Mate quite a lot, especially what the band and the interviewer said about the new album and the OBSCURE video… I really need a dark, loud, heavy rock album now :)

(Which reminds me, I still haven’t written anything about my last Third Stage order (Aliza Marie, porori, Kagrra, baroque)… I’m going to encode a few samples too; if anyone’s looking for something in particular, just email me or leave a comment in my LJ.)

This might sound cheesy, but music makes me extremely happy. Even if (or maybe just because) it makes me sad or think too much about certain things, it still makes me very very glad to be alive.

This morning I opened my window, hoping for a fresh cool breeze; but what did I get? Whoosh, hot sahara-like wind >_<
I think this has to be the hottest day so far. I can’t stay in front of the laptop longer than 10 minutes, so all I’ve been doing in the past few days was checking my emails.
Can someone send me an iceberg or something? Please??

(Why can’t baroque release a full album? Even Hotaru can – October 21!! ^-^)

music: Dir en grey – macabre (album)

So this was my first day of having the house all to myself. And I already had to fight a gigantic moth ;_; I HATE all sorts of insects and small crawling things with too many legs. But to all ye bugs out there: fear me and my vacuum cleaner, muahahaha *puts on the Ghostbusters theme song*

You know, all my favourite films have a certain quality to them: The first time I watched them I thought ‘I have never seen anything like this before.’ Donnie Darko is one of them. Awesome awesome awesome. The story just blew my mind, the music is great (hey, and I was right with that ‘every movie that starts with an Echo & The Bunnymen song must be genius’ thing ^^;), the effects are really cool and well, I’ve never seen anything like this before ^^
I have to add that American Beauty, however, is not one of those, unfortunately. It’s certainly good for an American film but if you’ve been watching a lot of (smaller) European films, you’ll find nothing particularly stunning, shocking, or innovative about AB. It’s all been done before. I had a hard time keeping me from falling asleep during the first half of the film; the second half was better, the cast did an excellent job; good movie, can’t understand all the hype, though (from an European point of view).

It’s the hottest summer ever since recording of temperatures began. But there is something I can do to make me forget the heat for a while: cold showers and ice cream. And it’s not that bad here, a friend told me it’s unbearably hot in T. (Which makes me appreciate the fact I’m here even more.) And what’s even more great is I’ll be getting all my things from my apartment in T. on Monday. My CDs. My Shoxx’s and my Fool’s Mates. My scanner-kun. ♥
