Oh.My.God. Goosebumps all over my body. The Return of the King trailer!!!
It’s wonderful wonderful wonderful and makes waiting for August 26th, the release day of the TTT DVD, even harder cause there’ll be a 10-minute (!!!) preview for RotK on it… neeed to see more of it (though I don’t want to spoil the whole premiere experience in December too much…).
music: Idlewild – These wooden ideas
I’m back. The cat, however, isn’t. Let’s just say that my hopes of ever seeing her again aren’t exactly high.
Apart from that, nothing really important has happened. The days fly by quite nicely, I don’t have to do much; which gives me much time to think about things, and that’s probably bad for me.
Thanks to some lovely cracking thunder and lightning two days ago, the heat is kind of bearable again. I love summer, just not the overly hot and sticky kind that prevents me from getting a good night’s sleep.
Oh, today’s the 30th, which means Kagrra’s Yotogibanashi is out. I really hope TS will be nice and fast so I can get my copy of it(along with new Porori, Aliza Marie and baroque goodness, hm there was something else in that order but I don’t remember -_-) till the end of next week.
I’m also compiling a list of songs that mean a lot to me at the moment. Or songs other people should hear at least once in their lifes. Or songs that should be downloaded from this site. Yes, I’ll encode them all.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only person in the world with a slight taking-pictures-of-bizzare-and-unreal-looking-clouds obsession =)
Wonder what our Mimi’s doing. It’s been a week since I saw her for the last time. I hate not knowing if something’s happened to her, if she was run over by a car, if she’s already dead.
On another cat-related note: I finally had a bit of spare time on the weekend and saw Neko no ongaeshi. It’s _such_ a cute little film. It’s not an epic masterpiece like Monoke Hime or Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi; I think it follows the tradition of the small, simple but touching Ghibli films like Mimi o sumaseba and Kiki. All the characters are really likeable, Haru is cute and Baron is the coolest (haaaa).
Also, I’ve been reading like crazy in the past weeks. Back in T., books were piling up everywhere but I never had the time to read most of them. I was always so tired after uni and prefered reading manga cause they didn’t need that much imagination as books and were more ‘fixed’ and didn’t make my mind wander like books do when I’m too tired.
Everything’s so much calmer here. I thought that once I’d reached that point, I’d start missing T., my friends, uni; I was really afraid I might regret my decision once my head was a bit more clear. Fortunately, I was wrong :) I really don’t regret leaving the city. I know I’ve done the right thing, even if it means I’ll have to start all over again in October. I know what I’m doing that for, though, and I know it’ll be worth it.
Just had to take a cold shower to make me feel remotely human again. I love summer, but this heat is killing me. There was an amazing thunderstorm right until a minute ago. It’s times like these when I hate my room just below the roof. Anyway, I was supposed to pull all the plugs cause the thunder and lightning had gotten quite bad but I finished the new layout for yt.net instead. No more Akiya ;_;
Our cat hasn’t been home for the past three days. She’s never done something like that before. We’re all quite worried. There have been so many cats killed by cars around here in the past weeks… I hope she’s doing fine and she’ll come back soon, healthy, just like nothing happened…
Kindly ignore yesterday’s post. Like I said in the intro paragraph, I’d been sitting outside for a long time, sun was shining heavily, you get the picture.
I got my DVDs from CDJapan! Neko no Ongaeshi and Akarui Mirai!! And if that wasn’t enough, I’m going to make a huge manga order tomorrow – as soon as I’ve decided what artbooks to get; there’re so many new books I’d love to have: new EVA illust collection Die Sterne, RahXephon official artworks collection, Die Feder by Sugisaki Yukiru (though I’m not that much into DNAngel… but the colour artworks are awesome, haaa). Manga: Yamakawa Aiji, goddess of shoujo manga, has a new tankoubon out! Yamaguchi Izumi’s debut tankoubon is out at the end of the month, so is the first volume of the Wolf’s Rain manga and vol.1 of CLAMP’s XXXHolic. There goes my money.
(I still need to send the payment for my Third Stage order. Not my fault it’s been taking so long, though. When I wanted to exchange money and needed 13,000 yen, they only had 10,000, so now I have to wait for the remaining 3,000 yen to come in >_<)
I spent a large part of the day in a field of sunflowers, rereading Battle Royale (which is so much better than the movie, of course). Also romanized baroque’s Sukebe Boy and Chaplin. Now I remember again why I was quite a bit glad s’cube made me remove the lyrics: it meant I’d never had to romanize a single baroque song again. I _hate_ romanizing baroque songs, I have no clue why they even print the lyrics in the liner notes when half of the lines don’t match what Ryo actually sings. (And most of the time he sings way to fast anyway, so trying to ‘correct’ the lyrics is a real hassle.)
But at least I’m going to update one of my sites again. And no more complaining – for now.
Btw, I’m quite happy with baroque’s latest pics; I’m even contemplating buying the latest issue of Arena 37C (even though it’s expensive and I detest 99% of all the other artists in it).
…yuukitenshi.net is getting a bit expensive (especially considering the fact that I barely touch it – look at the yuukitenshi.net design, it’s almost a year old), all the direct-linking of my image files pisses me off as well, and that thought of shutting down the whole thing keeps coming back from time to time. I’ve lost all enthusiasm a long time ago but kept going, thinking it’d all come back one day. And well, some days I’m still feeling content with everything. It’s just that – you’re working and working, investing so much, without getting anything back, you know. Oh, you might get your ass kicked by some management, I forgot yeah. But no, what I’m trying to say is that I really miss communicating with all the fans. MLs piss me off to no extend because of the MP3-whoring, gushing fangirls… it’s kind of strange but sometimes I feel so isolated, like I’ve lost (or never really got in) touch with people who love the bands the same way I do. Maybe I’ve been feeling too isolated in general lately. Not just music-wise.
I’m probably exaggerating cause I still have you and you, and I can feel a ‘connection’ just by reading your blogs.
But as for all the other people with similar interests, we’re all pretty contributing things by ourselves. For example, there’s no real overseas J-Rock/visual kei/whatever community. We might know each other’s names and so on but we don’t really communicate cause we’re unable to tell who’s really into it and who will be gone as soon as they’ve found another thing to gush over.
You know, I’d love to do a huge site project with people who really appreciate the bands. People with different tastes so we could cover a wide variety of bands. Updating would be so much easier cause even if you do not have time to make a certain update, someone else in the team could do it. I think there’s much we could do on a site like that… Ah, that would be so cool.
Applying at four different universities is a fine thing to kill some spare time. Quadruples the amount of papers and forms to fill in. Bureaucracy will be the death of me.
Ebay, however, is the film deprived, European girl’s saviour. Both 25th hour (which just opened in German theaters in May, hence the German DVD will only be out in at least half a year) and Donnie Darko (no German release at all) have now been acquired and should be here soon.
Feeding my Wolf’s Rain obsession has been getting a bit more difficult since the series got licensed in the USA. And unfortuantely, I haven’t been able to download more than the first 14 episodes. Ah well, WinMX will do the job for me (though Bittorrent would be so much more comfortable, damn you licensers).
Read the Order of the Phoenix last night. I’m so not happy with it.
List of blogs I’m reading has been trimmed to the usual suspects again cause I lost interest in reading some of the ones listed before.
Also, I didn’t notice until a few minutes ago that Hanako’s rejoined the world of blogging!! Whee, it’s really cool to have you back ^_^
